My Mother's Butterchicken
 

Ingredient list

  • 500 g chicken

  • 1 x onion (sliced)

  • 1x tablespoon chopped ginger

  • 2x minced garlic

  • 1 x tablespoon olive oil

  • 2 x teaspoons masala

  • 1 x teaspoon chilli powder

  • 1 x teaspoon cardamom 

  • Half a teaspoon coriander

  • 1 packet tomato paste

  • Half a teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 x teaspoon salt

  • 3 x tablespoon butter

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • Half a cup full cream yoghurt 

 
 

Directions

  • Fry onion, ginger & garlic

  • Add masala, chilli, cardamom & coriander 

  • Add tomato paste and chicken broth and yoghurt

  • Bring to a boil over medium heat

  • Keep at a simmer for 10-15 minutes

  • Add butter in sauce and stir

  • Cut chicken in smaller pieces 

  • Add to the sauce

  • Keep on stirring and simmer for 15-20 minutes

  • season with salt & pepper to taste

Serve with naan or basmati rice
